Maybe you didn’t know it, but January 22nd was the most important day of the year: Guy Fieri’s birthday. Looking back, we would like to honor the Mayor of Flavortown while not only highlighting the work he has done for many small restaurants, but also revisiting a Fieri operation that Corsi designed.
Guy Fieri is an interesting icon in the food industry. He is styled unapologetically and unironically: spiky bleached hair, a dark goatee, sunglasses on the back of his head, and a bowling shirt. His love of food and the people who work hard to make it is earnest. In fact, it seems that the only foods he doesn’t love are liver and eggs.
In possibly his most popular TV venture—”Diners, Drive-ins and Dives”—Fieri visits small, local restaurants to showcase their specialties and to encourage higher patronage. It’s a big deal for restaurants to be featured in the program, and a surefire way to seat more people at tables. Our team at Corsi has visited several of these locations for a meal and we’ve come away trusting Guy Fieri’s tastes.
We were truly delighted to work on Guy Fieri’s Chophouse in 2015, located inside Bally’s Atlantic City Casino. The project entailed we renovate an upscale dining room into a lively, high energy bar with an open kitchen. The project was a major success in the casino, scoring high ratings from guests on a regular basis for excellent food and excellent service. It seems like the Chophouse, not unlike Guy Fieri himself, leaves favorable impressions on its guests, who report it is high quality yet unintimidating.
We hope the Mayor enjoyed his birthday, and we look forward to seeing what else he introduces to Flavortown. Happy birthday, Guy!
